Designer, Ashley Profozich, is the queen of continuing to steamroll ahead despite whatever sh*t gets thrown her way. Relatable, funny, and inspiring - she talks us through love and life, her approach to self-care, and shares why she's just not that into the 'Whole 30' diet.

1. What is your life motto right now?

If you’re not happy about something, change it. Do your thing.

2. What's your most-played song within the past week? Why?

Super Far, LANY. The lyrics are just pretty spot on if you ask me.

3. Your Top Three Books of All Time:

A Picture of Dorian Gray - beautiful, like really a work of art.

Crime & Punishment - not as scary as it sounds, I swear.
Harry Potter - the comfort read I’ll never be able to give up.

4. Your Approach to Health in One Sentence:

Do what makes you feel good! I love eating healthy, going to barre classes, but only when I want to and it’s a positive, exciting thing for me — I try to stay away from dark feelings of I should do this because xyz . . . if you ask me guilt is not a healthy or productive feeling.

5. Your Approach to Happiness in One Sentence:

I’m realizing that my happiness often is made up of things that I actually can control — so I try to focus on appreciating the little things, because honestly there’s so much to be happy about!

6. Your Approach to Dating in One Sentence:

My *new* approach: It might take a while to learn what you actually like, and that’s fine. Chill out, have fun, and be open minded (+ enjoy the free tacos and drinks along the way if that’s your thing).

7. Your Most Used Word:

“totally” — I totally say it all the time, apparently.

10. What are 1-3 things you do when you feel blue to make yourself feel better? / or feel like you’re having an off day?

  • Get creative — play the piano, draw something sassy in my sketch book, write about how I’m feeling.

  • Pour a glass of sauvignon blanc / do a face mask / take a bath.

  • Go for a long walk and chat with all of my long distance loves on the phone.

11. Insert most used emoji:

12. Most inspiring quote:

“Some women choose to follow men, and some women choose to follow their dreams. If you’re wondering which way to go, remember that your career will never wake up and tell you that it doesn’t love you anymore.”

— Lady Gaga

13. What was the last thing that made you laugh?

This meme of a hamster.

14. Who’s someone who you can rely on to always make you smile? Why/what do they do?

My little sis. I swear she always has insightful things to say that are so true, but also make me laugh even if I’m having a very blah day.

15. Best advice you’ve ever gotten:

Don’t go home with him, let’s get food instead. Sometimes fries > guys.

16. Someone/something that changed your life (for the better):

(uh am I allowed to say you??? )

17. Most overrated advice / trend right now (in your opinion):

“Whole 30” — just not my thing. I’ll gladly give up meat or dairy, but would like to keep my peanut butter and adult beverages, thank you very much.

18. Something you feel like saying:

Eggplant is my favorite vegetable. It gets a bad rep but it’s pretty great, would highly recommend!

19. Fave website / youtube video / link online at the moment:

It’s Nice That

20. Fill in the blank: I’m happiest when I: _______________________

get to spend time with all of my loves!
