Ken Seeno can't be summed up: he's a designer at Headspace, surfer, boxer, twin, and the founder of the board seenopoint.com, which is a collection of eclectic objects ranging from cars to old CD covers. He's the cool kid that you want to befriend and he's sharing his POV on love, how life is like surfing, and how he's given up FOMO. Read on:
1. What is your life motto right now?
“Be proud of how hard you are trying.”
2. What's your most-played song within the past week? Why?
I am loving the song "The Man” by Taylor Swift! It is a super feminist song about the double standard of men and women! I really am loving how it brings this to pop culture!!!!!! I want to see way more in pop culture!
3. Your Top Three Books of All Time:
Oof, this is hard.
Essays on the Blurring of Art and Life by Alan Kaprow
The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz
The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand
But this feels like it could change… except the Blurring of Art and Life. Go look that one up. It changed everything for me. Very poetic.
4. Your Approach to Health in One Sentence:
Everything in moderation and get some exercise (I recommend Boxing or Surfing).
5. Your Approach to Happiness in One Sentence:
Be here now.
6. Your Approach to Dating in One Sentence:
Love is a choice.
7. Funny/most cringe date:
The first time I had my now wife over to my apartment, I surprised her with dinner. I went all out; edible flowers and everything. She didn’t eat very much, though and I thought it was because she didn’t like my cooking. I later found out that because she didn’t know I was cooking that night, she had eaten dinner literally right before coming over and didn’t have the heart to tell me.
8. Your Most Used Word:
“Yeah.” (According to my wife)
9. Last screenshot:
10. What are 1-3 things you do when you feel blue to make yourself feel better? / or feel like you’re having an off day?
Pet our dog, Suzy.
Take a breath and feel grateful for being alive.
Practice a short meditation.

12. Most inspiring quote:
“When traveling is made too easy and comfortable, its spiritual meaning is lost. This may be called sentimentalism, but a certain sense of loneliness engendered by traveling leads one to reflect upon the meaning of life, for life is after all a travelling from one unknown to another unknown.” - D.T. Suzuki
13. What was the last thing that made you laugh?
One of my colleagues, Karen Hong, did a presentation about herself recently and I was so blown away by it. Her work is incredibly funny. I was rolling with laughter in the middle of our main conference room at Headspace. I really love Karen’s work; I just found out she draws everything using her Apple trackpad.
14. Who’s someone who you can rely on to always make you smile? Why/what do they do?
My twin brother Carl always makes me laugh. He recently moved to LA and lives just a few blocks away from me. He’s really funny and I feel like I get to see a different side of him because well, we’re twins. He’s an amazing baker, and always invites us over to try a new type of bread or donut or cake he’s whipped up. He’s also very active and inspires me to stay fit and work hard. I really admire him.
15. Best advice you’ve ever gotten:
My first therapist told me that life is like surfing; you can see these waves coming, and they are big, kinda scary and exciting. You can choose to listen to your fear; paddle over them and wait for the next one, but if you do that it defeats the entire purpose of paddling out, right? Or you can acknowledge your fear, turn around and go for it. Worst thing that can happen is you fall off and catch another wave, right? Not so bad. What’s worse? To never ‘go for it’ out of fear? Or to face your fear, commit and have the best ride of your life.
16. Someone/something that changed your life (for the better):
Meeting my wife Christine change my life forever and really set me on the course I’m on today. Before I met her, I was kind of running in circles, burning the candle at both ends. Partying, living beyond my means. Really fun at times, but I felt empty. Once I met her, everything started to level-up and progress in a way I had never experienced before. She is my partner and my best friend. We’ve not only traveled the world together, but we also own and renovate a historic house now and we even rescued a puppy together. I’ve experienced and been exposed to so much as a result of my relationship with her. I can’t imagine my life without her.
17. Most overrated advice / trend right now (in your opinion):
I think the most worrisome trend of our times is FOMO; Fear of Missing Out. I’m currently reading ‘How to do Nothing’ by Jenny Odell and she has coined a new term in response: NOMO; the Necessity of Missing Out. I really identify with this sentiment.
18. Something you feel like saying:
Just be yourself.
19. Fave website / youtube video / link online at the moment:
I’m big on Joe Pass. Just check this out.
20. Fill in the blank: I’m happiest when I: _______________________
Am making memories with others.
21. Tag a gem who inspires you:
Tyler Hoehne; you’re up.
