Adam Morris is the Group Design Director at HUGE. He emanates chill, friendly vibes and has that unique ability to bring together a group of people from different walks of life.

Quarantined in NYC, he shares his routine, the recipe he's most proud of, and the pep talk that he gave recently.

He takes us through his quarantine routine:

What's the first thing you do when you wake up?

Twitter & Instagram — a couple scrolls each. Then, I brush my teeth. lol

What's a day in your life look like?

Overall, pretty busy from start to finish — some activities are daunting, some activities are energizing with pockets of laughter, humility, relaxation and inspiration along the way.  

What's your morning routine?

  • Wake up — see what I missed while I was sleeping (twitter, slack, email, news, etc)

  • Shower, brush my teeth, etc

  • Listen to the “The Daily” (New York Times podcast)

  • Brew up some black coffee with my trusty moccamaster

  • 30 - 40 mins looking at design sites

  • Check my “to do list”

  • Start working

What keeps you motivated on days you don’t feel like following your routine? 

Thinking about other people that may have never had the opportunities I did — realizing how lucking I am to be where I am and do what I do.

What's the last pep talk you received or gave to someone?

“We’ll get through this and be better as a result of it, so try to stay positive — the only thing you can control in life is how you react to things.”

What are some resources that are keeping you grounded during this time?

What’s your evening routine look like?

  • Workout (sometimes) 

  • Dinner (my wife’s cooking is )

  • Apple TV / Nintendo switch 

  • Make a “to do list”


Are you a meal planner? If so, please share your go-to recipes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner right now OR just your favorite dish at the moment.

I hit the lottery ending up with my partner, she’s the meal planner.  The only meal I’m good at is breakfast — sweet potato hash, onions, peppers, jalapeños with over-easy eggs on top, with a side of castelvetrano olives and whole grain toast (olive oil no butter)

I’d like to compliment doctors & nurses — anyone that has other people’s lives in their hands.  That’s stress. Not to minimize my own stress but a little perspective always helps : )
