3. Your Top Three Books of All Time:

Willpower Doesn’t Work

  • I read a lot of self-improvement books and this one is one of my favorites. The author explains that rather than relying on willpower (which comes and goes) you should instead alter your surroundings and everyday environment to support your goals so that change and success is inevitable. It’s a straightforward, practical, well-written book that can be applied to any goal for any person.

More With Less

  • I love cooking and this has given me so much inspiration recently.

Lord of the Flies

  • Read this growing up and LOVED it.

4. Your Approach to Health in One Sentence:

Take care of your body, it’s the only place you have to live!

For me I feel most healthy when my mind, body, and spirit are all in harmony.

5. Your Approach to Happiness in One Sentence:

Improve the things you can affect and find peace with the things that are out of your control.

6. Your Approach to Dating in One Sentence:

You’ll find your soulmate when you’re doing what you love.

7. Funny/most cringe-worthy date:

On date #2 with this guy he literally couldn’t stop talking about having kids. Freaked me the hell out since I was 20 and wanted nothing to do with that yet.

8. Your most used word:

I’m always saying “I love this restaurant! / I love this song! / I love that place, etc.

And I always make sure I tell my husband, friends and family that they are loved.

9. Last screenshot:

I have a screenshot of a map of Lisbon, Portugal. My husband and I just pulled the trigger on working remote for a few weeks in Europe this year while we have flexible jobs and few life responsibilities. It’s something we’ve been looking forward to for a while and we have a few friends that have been so I sent them this screenshot to get recommendations in the area. :)

10. What are 1-3 things you do when you feel blue to make yourself feel better? / or feel like you’re having an off day?

Workout/ move my body, listen to hip hop, drink tea, have a glass of red wine, go really deep into self care, start planning my next day so I know I have a game plan for that and won’t be stuck in the same hole I’m currently in. Definitely need to have a moment to just live in the bad feeling for a minute then I get really proactive and turn it around.

11. Insert most used emoji:

"Prioritize your life or someone else will do it for you."

  • “Always do your best. What you plant now, you will harvest later.” - Og Mandino

13. What was the last thing that made you laugh?

Being with friends at a music festival last weekend and people watching.

14. Who’s someone who you can rely on to always make you smile? Why/what do they do?

My close group of girlfriends that I met in college. They just get it. I’m a hundred percent myself when I’m around them and don’t have any anxiety or filter.

Prioritize your life or someone else will do it for you.

16. Someone/something that changed your life (for the better):

Therapy, gardening, keeping a gratitude journal. Basically anything that helps me slow down and reflect.

17. Most overrated advice / trend right now (in your opinion):

Say yes to every opportunity… I have a limited reserve of energy and I can’t drain it on other people’s agendas. I’ve learned to pick and choose jobs, activities, and friendships that fuel me and are aligned with my values.

18. Something you feel like saying:

Embrace change! Life would be so boring without it. Always keep learning and push yourself to learn and grow.

19. Fave website / youtube video / link online at the moment:

I’m really into the @femalecollective (feminist and self love advocate) and @donte.colley (for his optimistic and creative self expression) right now!
